Observation Modes

  • Apogee mode (L>4)
    • normal measurement by EFD (APO-mode), OFA, and HFA (mainly EE-mode)
    • plus measurement by WFC/EFD-Burst (mainly Chorus burst)
  • Perigee mode (L<4)
    • normal measurement by EFD (PERI-mode), OFA, and HFA (mainly EB-mode)
    • plus measurement by EFC/EFD-Burst (mainly EMIC burst)
  • Plasmapause mode
    • EFD and OFA: normal measurement
    • HFA: Plasmapause mode measurement
